Job Description

The Project Control Engineer will join the core team of a mega-project implemented by a prestigious Client in Riyadh. They will be responsible for Project Control activities as outlined in this document, ensuring the accuracy, consistency, and integration of project control related deliverables. The role requires proven skills and experience in Project Planning, Project Controls and Reporting. The successful candidate will have strong analytical skills, excellent communication skills and be able to demonstrate the ability to work as part of an integrated management team (PMO or equivalent).

1. Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor project progress, analyze variances, and provide accurate and timely reporting inputs to stakeholders.
  • Perform earned value analysis and forecasting for ongoing and future projects.
  • Implement and maintain the approved data architecture for use in project control (WBS, CBS, OBS, etc.).
  • Assist in the integration and optimization of data sets being utilized for the many different progress dashboards, established & ad-hoc reports and progress presentations.
  • Develop, update, and review project schedules, including loading of resources, and budgets using advanced project management tools (P6, Unifier).
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure project control outputs align with inputs and that any actions associated with outputs are assigned correctly.
  • Assist in the development of project management plans, guidelines and templates.
  • Support in the implementation, and maintenance (version control) of project control systems and procedures.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of PMO processes and methodologies deployed and in use on the project.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior team members as well as Client staff on project control best practices.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, or a related science field. Minimum 7-10 years of progressive experience in project control, planning & scheduling and integrated reporting.
  • Experience working within project management teams in a project control function delivering large-scale giga-projects in KSA.
  • Proficiency in project management software such as Primavera P6 and Unifier.
  • Strong knowledge of data analysis, reporting tools, and systems.
  • Experience in data integration and data assurance for use in detail analytics & reporting is essential.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • High level of proficiency in both written and spoken English.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage activities on multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is preferred.
  • Experience working in Riyadh or within the Gulf region is highly desirable.
