Job Description
We are seeking an energetic and enthusiastic leader to manage the Dental Hygiene program. This is a full time, professional position reporting directly to the Dean of Education. As the leader of the program, the Program Director is responsible for managing the department using sound business principles and ensuring compliance with all regulatory, accreditation and company policies and procedures. This position requires some evening and Saturday hours.
The Program Director teaches in his/her assigned discipline, works with faculty to promote continuous improvement of the quality of instruction within the assigned program(s), is the lead administrator for the department, and, as such, is responsible for faculty training and development, coordinating and administering the academic program(s) and student outcomes and activities within the department.
Requirements
- Expertise in interpersonal and verbal presentation/written communication skills.
- Ability to provide effective direction and leadership and work effectively and collaboratively with others.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Dental Hygienist in a clinical setting.
- Prior higher education/postsecondary related teaching experience of at least 2 years.
- A Bachelor degree in Dental Hygiene is required by accrediting and licensing agency standards, Master degree is highly desired.
- An active Registered Dental Hygienist license in the state of Virginia as per accreditation and state licensing standards.
