Ecolab, Purolite Resins is seeking a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Technician to cover the night shift within the UK Engineering team. As the sole engineering presence during the night shift, you will work much closer with the night shift production teams to ensure the efficient operation of the UK manufacturing plant. This role is based at our state-of-the-art manufacturing site in Llantrisant, Wales.

Work in Ecolab, Purolite Resins' Llantrisant Manufacturing Facility to ensure all mechanical, electrical, and associated plant equipment is safe, functional, and fully maintained to the highest standards. This role requires a high degree of autonomy and self-sufficiency, performing comprehensive troubleshooting and repair across all disciplines to ensure seamless production and deliver manufacturing output targets.

This role is suitable for candidates with a strong multi-skilled maintenance background who can work independently and make critical decisions to support production during night-time operations.

What you'll do:

  • Autonomous Maintenance: Act as the primary mechanical and electrical technical lead on the night shift, ensuring the continued upkeep of all rotating equipment, piping systems, and associated electrical & instrumentation equipment.
  • Production Partnership: Work in close collaboration with night shift production supervisors and operators to prioritise repairs and provide immediate technical support for plant breakdowns.
  • Breakdown & Repair: Proactively carry out preventative maintenance and reactive repairs primarily focused on mechanical integrity while fully supporting electrical and control system tasks.
  • Safety & Compliance: Ensure all maintenance work is carried out correctly and safely, adhering to all health and safety procedures, particularly regarding lone working protocols.
  • Documentation & Handover: Accurately record all work carried out in the maintenance systems and provide detailed, high-quality technical handovers for the incoming day engineering team.
  • Process Support: Work with production staff on troubleshooting, leading on fault analysis for any issues arising during the shift.
  • Working Hours: Night shift pattern (e.g., 4 on 4 off nights / 12 hour shifts). From 6:30pm to 6:30am.

What you'll need:

  • Multi-Skilled Expertise: Strong experience in fault finding and repair of mechanical systems (pumps, agitators, valves) and electrical control/automation systems.
  • Technical Versatility: Experience with three-phase motors, drives, and instrumentation involving flow, pressure, temperature, and level measurement.
  • Self-Sufficiency: Ability to work independently and make technical decisions without immediate on-site supervision.
  • Analytical Skills: Ability to read and understand mechanical, electrical, and P&ID drawings to facilitate rapid troubleshooting.
  • Communication: Ability to follow complex work instructions and write clear, effective reports for the day shift management.
  • Physical Capability: Ability to work at heights, handle and work with heavy equipment safely.
  • Education: HNC qualified in an engineering discipline or time-served apprenticeship with extensive multi-skilled experience.

Desirable but not essential:

  • Experience of working in a chemical environment.
  • Experience of Mechanical and Electrical Maintenance in hazardous areas (ATEX/DSEAR).
  • 18th Edition Wiring Regulations.
  • Experience of PLC systems, Control Panels, and HMI's.
