Senior Data Platform Engineer


Madrid Office - Hybrid: 4 days in the office, 1 day working from home

Ebury's strategic growth plan would not be possible without our Data team and we are seeking a Senior Data Engineer to join our Data Platform team!
Our mission is to develop maintain and improve Ebury's Data Platform with a focus on building scalable, robust, and innovative frameworks.

As a Senior Data Platform Engineer, you will work closely with the rest of the team to help develop and improve the Data Platform.

Responsibilities:



  • Oversee the design, development, and maintenance of a robust data platform to be consumed across the company

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand their data needs and deliver actionable insights

  • Drive innovation and explore emerging technologies to enhance our data capabilities

  • Establish and enforce data governance policies and standards to ensure data quality and security


About you:



  • Proficiency in Python for data transformation and validation

  • Proficiency in SQL for querying and managing large datasets, as well as experience working with structured and unstructured data sources

  • Data engineering and modelling skills such as slowly changing dimensions and dimensional modelling

  • Graph database modelling encouraged

  • Hands-on experience with data warehousing, data lakes, and cloud platforms, including designing and implementing data solutions at scale

  • Self-motivation and curiosity, with a desire to learn and grow in a fast-paced environment, continuously improving both technical and business skills

  • Experience with GCP (Google Cloud Platform) tools and services, such as BigQuery, Cloud Run, and Cloud Functions

  • Fluency in English (Spanish, a plus)
