About this role

Maintain a safe working environment by providing adequate precautions and designing safety into all tests and activities. Strong attention to detail & ability to work in a self-directed environment. Configure test equipment controls, programming, instrumentation & data collection as needed to support testing. Provide engineering technical expertise for active test programs. Coordinate build of test equipment required to perform requested testing. Review test plans with internal customers for setup & operation. Perform technical analysis and necessary research for capital equipment requests (CAR). Put together accurate test estimates and scheduling considering all test costs. Provide input to the strategic, tactical, and capital plans to align facility capabilities with the requirements of the business. Communicate with both internal and external customers to establish technical requirements, determine appropriate plans & schedules, and update progress and results. Assist in the daily deployment of the ISO-17025 quality system. Create and maintain a highly engaged team culture that generates cycle time reductions, improves automation and efficiency, enhances facility appearance, capability and capacity and fosters continuous improvement and innovation. Maintain and improve facilities and equipment to meet current & future business requirements, focusing on automation of test equipment controls, data acquisition and analysis. Bachelor's degree in Science, Math, or Engineering from an accredited institution. Minimum of three (3) months of internship or co-op experience in operations, engineering, testing, or other related field. Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship, now or in the future. Based on government requirements for the program this role will be supporting, applicants must be a US Citizen for consideration (no dual citizenship). No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates within a 50-mile radius of Beltsville, MD will be considered. Active-Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation. Experience with complex control systems, programming and instrumentation. Demonstrated mechanical aptitude. Ability to comprehend complex written instructions. Working knowledge of pneumatics, hydraulics, electronics, machining, pressure vessel design, LabVIEW and Microsoft Office. Desire and willingness to quickly learn new products, technologies, and testing techniques. Demonstrated ability to establish priorities and balance multiple objectives.
