The Draftsperson will create accurate technical drawings and models to support sheet metal fabrication and electrical assembly operations. This role ensures compliance with industry standards and internal specifications, enabling efficient production and assembly processes. Develop detailed 2D and 3D drawings for sheet metal components and electrical assemblies using CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, Inventor, SolidWorks). Interpret engineering sketches, specifications, and design requirements to produce accurate drawings. Apply ASME Y14.5 standards for dimensioning and tolerancing; ensure proper use of GD&T. Collaborate with engineers and manufacturing teams to optimize designs for manufacturability and assembly. Maintain drawing revisions and documentation control in accordance with company standards. Prepare bills of materials (BOMs) and support production with clear, complete drawing packages. Ensure compliance with applicable codes and standards (ANSI, IEEE, NEMA, UL). Assist in troubleshooting design issues and updating drawings based on feedback from fabrication and assembly teams. Must have an Associate degree or technical certification in Drafting, Mechanical Design, or related field. Minimum one year experience in CAD tools (Inventor, AutoCAD, SolidWorks). No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates within a 50-mile radius of Williamsburg, VA will be considered. Experience with electrical enclosure design and layout. Understanding of ERP systems for BOM management. Knowledge of UL, IEEE, and NEMA standards for electrical assemblies
