Prepare meals in accordance with portion and quality standards specified in recipes while controlling food usage within assigned sections to minimize waste and maintain efficiency.
Prepare meals for assigned kitchen sections including restaurants and outlets, ensuring timely and high-quality food delivery
Coordinate smooth service at the pass and during food pick-up
Organize daily prep for cooks and outlets; supervise line set-up and preparation
Monitor inventory levels, report low-stock items, and assist with ordering and receiving supplies as needed
Maintain kitchen sanitation and cleanliness standards in compliance with health regulations and hotel requirements
Report unsafe or malfunctioning equipment to the supervisor promptly
Assist in training kitchen staff and ensure all assigned duties are completed during shifts
Promote teamwork and effective communication with departments including Sales, Catering, Banquets, Maintenance, and Guest Services
Work with minimal supervision while maintaining consistency and quality
Assist with dishwashing or other kitchen duties as required
Support Cooks II and III as needed
Perform other duties as assigned while following all Company and Brand Standards
High school diploma or equivalent
Minimum 2 years of food preparation experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Culinary certification, apprenticeship, or Red Seal Certification preferred
Strong understanding of kitchen operations, food safety, and quality control
Able to lift and carry items up to 50 pounds
Comfortable standing and moving throughout the kitchen for extended periods
Able to bend, stoop, kneel, and handle kitchen equipment and utensils
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to read and follow recipes, assist with scheduling, and track inventory
Problem-solving and reasoning skills used regularly
Basic math skills including percentages, quantities, and variances
Alcohol awareness certification and/or valid food handler card required per local regulations
Availability to work nights, weekends, and holidays
Work areas include the main kitchen and food and beverage service areas
