About the role

The Planned Surgery Access Unit is seeking a compassionate, detail-oriented Surgical Liaison Nurse on a temporary basis.

The role of the Liaison Nurse is to act as the key connection between surgical teams, patients, and families. This role focuses on communication, coordination, and patient advocacy throughout the surgical process. 

You will develop, coordinate and follow a centralised approach to planned surgery waiting list management of the relevant surgical clinical stream.

• Excellent communication and organisational skills
• Demonstrated critical thinking and the ability to work autonomously
• Open, flexible and innovative with demonstrated ability to prioritise workload
• Highly developed leadership experience
• A strong commitment to high quality care
• The ability to work as part of a diverse team
• Computer literacy with proficiency with Microsoft Office software 

Healthcare workers are strongly recommended to follow COVID vaccination recommendations provided in the Australian Immunisation handbook (based on ATAGI advice). Seasonal vaccination against influenza is a mandatory requirement of this role and an offer is conditional on this being up to date prior to employment.
