About the role
The Grade 2 Social Worker provides a range of specialist social work interventions to acute mental health consumers to assist individuals to achieve the highest level of independent function, leading to successful community integration and improved quality of life outcomes. Through the promotion of recovery and the principles and practice of service coordination the Grade 2 Social Worker will ensure that consumers are at the centre of service delivery and receive a timely, coordinated response to their health and social needs.
The Grade 2 Social worker will work with the multidisciplinary team and demonstrate a commitment to consumer/ carer – centered practice (e.g. Involve consumers/carers/ external providers in decision making and advocate on their behalf if necessary and provide specialised education and / or information to consumers/ carers appropriate to their needs)

Healthcare workers are strongly recommended to follow COVID vaccination recommendations provided in the Australian Immunisation handbook (based on ATAGI advice). Seasonal vaccination against influenza is a mandatory requirement of this role and an offer is conditional on this being up to date prior to employment.
