About the role

An opportunity exists for a Casual Customer Service Officer to join the Business Service Centre, providing essential support to internal and external visitors at our Box Hill and Maroondah Hospital sites. As the first point of contact at the main reception desks, the Business Service Centre delivers 24/7 face-to-face, telephone, email support to internal and external stakeholders, as well as supporting emergency code procedures. The team plays a critical role in maintaining a warm and welcoming environment for patients, visitors, and staff while also overseeing key administrative systems and providing help desk support.

You’ll be part of a friendly, supportive team delivering exceptional customer service, responding to service requests and system faults, and performing a range of administrative duties.

This casual position will provide coverage for both planned and unplanned leave across Box Hill and Maroondah Hospitals. The Business Service Centre operates 24 hours a day, so the successful applicant must be available to work all shift times including overnight shifts as required.

  • A proactive attitude and willingness to learn
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • A reliable work ethic and high level of professionalism
  • An interest in healthcare — previous experience in a health environment is desirable but not essential

Healthcare workers are strongly recommended to follow COVID vaccination recommendations provided in the Australian Immunisation handbook (based on ATAGI advice). Seasonal vaccination against influenza is a mandatory requirement of this role and an offer is conditional on this being up to date prior to employment.
