Staff Accountant

Salary will be between $40,560 to $55,000 per year (based on experience)

Easterseals Florida is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Staff Accountant to join our Finance team. In this role, you will support the accuracy and integrity of our financial operations by posting business transactions, maintaining subsidiary records, and reconciling accounts to the general ledger. What You’ll Be Doing

• Update the weekly cash summary
• Complete bank reconciliations
• Track, manage, and maintain records related to grants
• Prepare and enter general ledger transactions in accordance with the month-end checklist
• Assist with reconciliations for various balance sheet accounts
• Support annual budget preparation as needed
• Assist in preparing schedules and reports for auditors
• Provide variance explanations to the Accounting Director and CFO

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business, or a related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience
• 2 years of accounting experience, 1 year as a staff accountant
• Proven experience in financial management and analysis; nonprofit experience preferred
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and budgeting
• Proficiency with accounting and financial software (e.g., MIP), Excel, and financial modeling
• Excellent communication and presentation skills
• Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Ability to work collaboratively with team members across multiple sites
• Flexibility and adaptability
• Demonstrated integrity, tact, and sound judgment
• Ability to meet our approved driver qualifications in order to drive your personal vehicle, as required, for business-related needs (minimum age of 21 and good driving history)
