About this role

Do you have experience of finance business partnering within a public sector organisation? If so we'd love to hear from you.

We have an opportunity for an experienced Principle Finance Officer to join an established finance team who support the Adult Social Care and Health (ASCH) directorate. The successful applicant will provide business partner advice to service colleagues who lead on joint working arrangements with the NHS.

This is an exciting opportunity to work at the heart of health and social care integration. The successful applicant will play a key role in supporting NHS joint working financial arrangements and wider Adult Social Care finance, including: Budget setting and monitoring support; tracking spend against grant conditions; providing management support including reporting to relevant management boards; supporting financial closedown and completing relevant statutory and benchmarking financial returns.

They will also contribute to the work of an established team at a pivotal time as we prepare for Local Government Reorganisation.

 We welcome applicants with experience of NHS finance teams, local authorities and other public sector organisations.

We are looking for candidates who:

  • Accounting Technician (level 4) or equivalent level part qualified CCAB.
  • Business partnering skills including proven communication and relationship building skills, customer service and negotiation skills.
  • Interpersonal and influencing skills, with the ability to challenge decisions and assumptions.
  • Ability to analyse, understand, interpret and explain financial and non-financial information
