The school will need to ensure that they are not knowingly employing a person who is disqualified under the 2018 Regulations in connection with relevant childcare provision.  Accordingly, the successful candidate will be required to demonstrate to the school, by completing a self-declaration form as part of the pre-employment checks process, that they have not been disqualified under the 2018 Regulations.  

If the preferred candidate is found to be disqualified under the 2018 Regulations, the offer of employment will be subject to the application by the preferred candidate to Ofsted for a waiver and the receipt of a waiver from Ofsted.

King Offa Nursery is looking to recruit an enthusiastic and committed Nursery Practitioner or Nursery Apprentice to join our Early Years provision.

We would love to hear from you if:

  • You have a genuine passion for early years

  • You are a practitioner who is committed to providing the very best opportunities for our children

  • You are a team member with good communication skills and a clear vision for excellence

  • You have a full and relevant Level 3 or above Early Years qualification, or you currently hold a Level 2 Early Years qualification and would like to complete your Level 3 qualification

Early Years Practitioner:

  • Hours: full or part-time, term-time only, permanent

  • Pay grade: East Sussex Single Status Grade 3, Scale point 7 (FTE: £24,796.00)

Early Years Apprentice:

  • Hours: Full time, term-time only, fixed-term (37.5 hours per week) 8am to 4pm Monday to Friday

  • Pay grade: Apprenticeship rates £7.55 per hour (£8 per hour from April 2026)

  • Please note: appointment to the role of Nursery Apprentice will initially be on a fixed term basis in line with the apprenticeship agreement.
