About the Role

As Deputy Headteacher, you will work alongside the Headteacher playing a pivotal role in shaping and leading our whole school curriculum and teaching and learning strategies. You will monitor and support effective teaching practices across the school, lead on attendance and assessment, and take on the responsibility of Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead (DDSL). This position does not include a regular classroom teaching commitment, allowing you to focus on leading and supporting good teaching practice.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee whole school (Nursery – Year 6) curriculum development and implementation
  • Lead and monitor whole school teaching and learning to ensure high-quality education for ALL pupils
  • Work alongside the Headteacher to oversee assessment 
  • Drive and lead improvements in pupil attendance 
  • Support and develop staff through coaching and leadership
  • Lead the day to day running of the school 
  • Collaborate with the Headteacher, Governors, and Trust to achieve school goals
  • Fulfil the role of Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead, promoting pupil safety and wellbeing

  • Has a proven track record for effective strategic school improvement 
  • Has experience of leading curriculum, teaching and learning, assessment and attendance. 
  • Is highly organised, motivated, and has high expectations and standards 
  • Is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all pupils
