Role Overview

The Global HSE Team ensures a safe working environment for Dyson employees and minimizes environmental impact through governance, integration, and continuous improvement. At Dyson, innovation and values are at the heart of how we work.

As the HSE Manager, you will advocate for Health, Safety, and Environmental standards across Dyson Malaysia, ensuring compliance and driving improvements in HSE practices. You will work closely with functional stakeholders to embed HSE into operations and culture.

Key Responsibilities

  • HSE Leadership & Governance
    • Maintain HSE systems aligned with Dyson’s global framework and local regulations.
    • Act as subject matter expert for HSE inquiries and escalations.
    • Promote proactive safety culture through engagement and continuous improvement.
  • Regulatory Compliance & Risk Management
    • Ensure compliance with Malaysian DOSH and DOE environmental regulations.
    • Lead HIRARC risk assessments and implement controls.
    • Manage Permit to Work and Hot Work compliance (Contractor Management)
    • Liaise with DOSH, DOE, and BOMBA for certifications, reporting, and incident management.
  • Incident Management & Reporting
    • Coordinate investigations and ensure closure of corrective and preventive actions.
    • Handle statutory reporting and monthly HSE reports.
  • Training & Capability Building
    • Act as training coordinator for internal and external programs, including:
      • Firefighting training (with BOMBA)
      • First Aid, CPR & AED training
    • Deliver safety inductions, toolbox talks, and awareness sessions for employees and contractors.
  • Emergency Preparedness & Environmental Management
    • Organize evacuation drills and emergency response plans.
    • Manage environmental programs (waste, energy, pollution control, permitting).
    • Oversee chemical safety, MSDS, and chemical register.
  • Process Improvement & Innovation
    • Drive innovation and process improvements to enhance HSE competency.
    • Monitor occupational health programs (e.g., audiometric testing, LEV monitoring, respirator fit tests).

Key Requirements

  • A DOSH certified Safety & Health Officer (SHO) with a valid Green Book
  • Minimum 7 years’ HSE experience in similar industries.
  • Strong experience in risk assessment (HIRARC) and implementing risk controls.
  • Proven track record in liaising with government agencies (DOSH, DOE, BOMBA).
  • Experience managing fire certification renewals, DOE permitting, and incident closure with DOSH.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage complexity in a dynamic environment.
