General Description

Responsible for supporting charge capture and financial reporting for procedural areas of the Heart Center. Assist with department budgeting, trending and analysis.

 

Duties and Responsibilities 

  • Review data on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis as needed for timely upkeep and completion of encounter, supply, and charge reconciliations.
  • Review data for supplies, procedures, ends of exam, contrast, anesthesia, medical record numbers, patient names, etc. for accuracy of charge capture and supply reconciliations.
  • Preparation of reports and analyses setting forth progress, adverse trends and appropriate conclusions in the context of late charges and timely filing for Revenue Management as well as Clinical Staff and Providers.
  • Recommend new methods for collection and documentation of data to improve processes; write and revise procedural job aides.
  • Communicate with clinical, financial, and technical staff as necessary to complete and correct missing or late charges and respond to inquiries regarding procedure reports in a timely manner.
  • Monitor department WQs for each of the labs supported by Heart Center Finance and for late procedure reports.
  • Post missing supplies on a per request basis; assist with audit inquiries for supplies and procedure charges.
  • Use advanced Excel functions to highlight disparities in supplies, procedures, etc.
  • Preparation of monthly finance reports pertaining to Cost Centers managed by Heart Center Finance.
  • Monitoring Clinical Staff charges in CVSSU by reviewing documentation to ensure Level of Service Guidelines have been met.
  • Assist in the preparation of the operational budget; review and analyze departmental budget requests.
  • Assist with monitoring budget expenditures and prepare written reports and analyses to management setting forth progress, adverse trends and appropriate recommendations or conclusions.
  • Prepare and coordinate distribution of various financial reports and analyses to include financial analysis of individual departments.

 

Required Qualifications at this Level

Education

Work requires a bachelor's degree in Accounting, Economics or a related business field.

 

Experience

Work requires two years of experience in accounting and/or budget review and analysis to become familiar with acceptable Accounting principles.
