Job Summary
The Associate Distribution Center Planner serves as a dual point of contact for Supply Chain distribution centers (DC) in the areas of work planning, emergency management, and storm readiness. Responsibilities include planning and scheduling day-to-day work within the distribution center, adjusting work assignments of personnel based on changing business needs, active participation in process improvements to safety and efficiency, and ensuring business partner satisfaction. The Associate Distribution Center Planner will escalate any issues to the DCP II if necessary. This position works as first-line, material availability and status, deliverables, scanning devices, and supply chain operation. This position also assists in invoice review and payments. Managing resources via communication with planners, material analysts, logistics coordinators, distributors and manufacturers across all geographies, in an effort to minimize cost impact to supply chain is an ongoing part of daily operations.
This role works closely with peers and management to develop a fundamental understanding of the business operations they support.
Associate Distribution Center Planners will routinely perform the following tasks:
Create pick event for work order no more the 10 business days prior to delivery date. Communicate pick event information to business unit contacts
Follow up on missing material inquiries
Planning and scheduling day-to-day work within the distribution center, adjusting work assignments of personnel based on changing business needs.
Supports the Zone field Leaders and Field Material Handlers with material management, trucking & logistics, missing material inquiries, and business unit engagements.
Daily Business Unit support around missing material, backorders, deliveries, and closing gaps to work execution.
Actively participates in process/continuous improvement projects/events.
Manages material availability and backorder status reports, deliveries, and invoices and payments. Will follow-up with planners, material analysts, logistics coordinators, distributors, and manufacturers across all geographies, in an effort to minimize cost impact to supply chain daily operations.
Utilizes information gained through reports, work plan data and communications with customers and suppliers to ensure that all materials are available to support project schedules. Collaborate with warehouse operations and station procurement to leverage inventory sharing opportunities.

Manages Purchases Requisitions for poles across responsible Zone
Participate in emergency preparedness efforts, including storm preparation and restoration.
Effective verbal and written communication skills will be leveraged through numerous communication channels, such as email, phone, and in-person meetings/discussions.
Will escalate any issues to the next level within the Supply Chain Planning role hierarchy, as necessary.
Associate’s Degree
In lieu of Associate’s degree listed above, High School/GED AND 2 year(s) related work experience
Bachelor’s Degree and 2 years related work experience
Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP)
Prior Distribution and/or Transmission planning experience
Supply Chain experience
Excellent planning and organizational skills
Excellent written communication skills
Demonstrated ability to work independently and multi-task
Excellent interpersonal skills
Demonstrated skills with Microsoft programs
Minimum of one year experience working effectively with customers, demonstrating positive conflict resolution skills, problem solving, and effective negotiations with customers
Working knowledge of using e-mail and Microsoft products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
One to two years’ experience of business unit’s work management, inventory, and material processes
Minimum of one year experience in effectively working self-directed with limited supervision
Direct experience in warehouse operations
Working knowledge of inventory control related function
Onsite Mobility Classification – Work will be performed at a company facility
On Site – Office, warehouse, and field environment
Travel Requirements outside of assigned zone(s): 5%-15%
