Position Summary

This is the third level of a four-level job hierarchy. Employees at this level manage work with minimal supervision. Incumbents are expected to develop advanced skills and to have the ability to work independently, with guidance limited to unusual or complex projects or issues. They are fully competent in use of concepts and procedures. They identify problems, develop solutions and take actions to resolve.


The Sr Product Analyst provides and leads analytical support to Product Owners or Product Managers engaged in the discovery, design and delivery of products. Individuals serve as business experts within the PGO organization for the Microsoft O365 and SharePoint products. This role is internal customer focused and will be responsible for providing technical support, administration, and troubleshooting for Microsoft O365 services with a focus on SharePoint Online. Individuals will design, revise and implement solutions that meet customer & business needs, by utilizing the Microsoft Power Platform and SharePoint Online.


The ideal candidate will have a strong background in O365 and end user support, with an emphasis on SharePoint configuration, permissions, and supporting Power Platform applications. They exhibit autonomy in applying tools, methodologies and governance that align with business objectives for the PGO organization.
 

This individual must be familiar with the agile methodology, maintaining a product backlog utilizing tools such as Jira, and prioritizing the backlog of work for the PGO SharePoint organization.

Responsibilities

  • Utilize data to help teams develop and implement O365 solutions

  • Provides support for services such as Power Apps, Power Automate, SharePoint, Dataverse, Microsoft forms, etc.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve SharePoint related issues including site access, permissions, document libraries, and workflows.

  • Analyzes and develops plan of action to correct or eliminate future issues.

  • Designs, revises and implements new solutions to meet customer and business needs.

  • Works to integrate solutions into existing business processes. Helps to manage change and communications.

  • Prepares thorough and accurate technical and business documentation of solutions developed within the team.

  • Coordinates and manages subject matter experts from a variety of disciplines and support organizations to provide business and system requirements and validation for business & IT projects.

  • Responsible for ensuring the business remains compliant with corporate IT standards and policies within the SharePoint and Power Platform solutions.

  • Lead data analysis and/or root cause investigation that are across multiple work groups or multiple systems.

  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to support business process automation using SharePoint and the Power Platform (Power Automate, Power Apps, etc.).

  • Develops and maintains standards and best practices across the PGO organization for SharePoint Online.

  • Assist product owner with user research and story writing.

  • Ability to perform three or more of the following key activities within a product team process mapping, value stream mapping, process analysis, process design, methods development, performance standards & metrics development, ROI analysis.

  • Perform quality assurance tasks such as testing new solutions as they are being developed.

  • Support change management functions to ensure successful product implementation.

  • Collaborate with product team to understand opportunities for continuous improvement initiatives and potential areas to gain efficiencies or cost savings.

Required/Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor degree in Business, Industrial Engineering, Information Management or similar discipline and five (5) + years work experience in applicable or related business area

  • In lieu of Bachelors degree(s) AND related experience listed above, High School/GED AND nine (9) years related work experience

Additional Preferred Qualifications

  • 3+ years' experience working in Microsoft SharePoint or Microsoft O365 Power Platform

  • "Green Belt" Six Sigma certification or equivalent experience

  • Ability to communicate effectively and succinctly across a variety of media including facilitation and presenting results to all levels of the organization

  • Attention to detail

  • Problem-solving and analytical abilities

  • Ability to handle multiple competing priorities

  • Deeply curious, always looking to learn and improve with a bias towards action

  • Ability to research and gather data

  • Collaborative in problem solving and working style to drive change through influence

  • Five or more years' experience in utility industry

  • Ability to define and quantify opportunities with minimal existing data

  • Experience writing business cases

  • Experience creating and maintaining visual representations of ongoing data tracking activities and outcomes (i.e. through data dashboard)

  • Design Thinking experience

Working Conditions

  • Hybrid Mobility Classification – Work will be performed from both remote and onsite locations after the onboarding period. However, hybrid employees should live within a reasonable daily commute to a Duke Energy facility
