General Description of the Job Class
The Director of Talent Development plays a pivotal role in leading and optimizing Talent Development functions. This role provides leadership to a team and is responsible for the oversight and continuous improvement of Talent and Organizational Development service delivery across Duke University Health System.
Reporting directly to the AVP of Talent Development, the Director is responsible for designing, implementing, and overseeing strategies and initiatives that develop and accelerate the Talent Development and Organizational Development Strategy. The Director also serves as a consultant in an organizational development capacity to support team member engagement, retention, talent management, succession planning, leadership pipeline development, change management and other initiatives to facilitate leadership development and continuous learning initiatives.

Required Qualifications at this Level
Education
Bachelor's degree in related area and/or equivalent experience, Master's degree preferred.
Experience
6 years of progressive human resources related experience. Health system, hospital, or Academic Medical Center experience preferred
Degrees, Licensure, and/or Certification
Professional HR Certification (PHR or SHRM-CP) or Assessments (e.g. Hogan) preferred
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Demonstrated knowledge of federal, state, and local laws and regulations in human resources
