Position Summary:

Reporting to the Controller, the Intermediate Accounting Associate is a professional, organized and detail-oriented individual responsible for completing a variety of daily and monthly administrative accounting tasks, including posting, reconciliation and reporting. The Intermediate Accounting Associate works closely with various stakeholders in the accounting team to ensure all tasks are completed accurately and timely with a high degree of accuracy. This is a full-time role based out of the Head Office at Dueck on Marine. 

Job duties and responsibilities:

• Enter vehicle sales transactions into the PBS accounting system
• Review vehicle deal documentation and investigate or resolve discrepancies
• Support vehicle inventory counts and audit processes
• Analyze vehicle-related costs, revenues, and gross profit margins
• Reconcile schedules and reports related to vehicle accounting
• Process vehicle flooring, payouts, and chattel transactions
• Assist with month-end and year-end accounting close activities
• Perform additional accounting and administrative duties as required to support business operations

Skills and Qualifications:

• 2+ years of accounting experience in the automotive retail industry (posting vehicle deals)
• Experience with Dealer Management System (preferably PBS)
• Strong proficiency with Excel and MS Office
• Strong organizational and time management skills with good attention to detail
• Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines with minimal supervision
• Good interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to work effectively and cohesively with various stakeholders 
• Flexible and adaptable to organizational change with a strong aptitude for continuous learning

Logistical Requirements: 

This is a full-time position at Dueck Auto Group with the head office located at 400 SE Marine Drive.  The position may require reasonable flexibility in work hours to meet business deadlines. Professional attire is required (business casual dress code).
