About this role
We are looking for a Senior Backend Engineer with 5+ years of experience to design, extend, and operate the backend services that power our data-heavy product. We are looking for a self-starter who is comfortable with ambiguity, passionate about their work, and excited to build a product from the ground up. This person is crucial for building the foundation of our SaaS product, Skyway, and will have a direct impact on customer success.
What will you be doing?
Design, extend, and operate backend services that power our data-heavy product experiences.
Build and maintain APIs and backend workflows for frontend and data engineers to integrate with.
Own critical pieces of our billing and financial data modeling, focusing on performance, correctness, and observability.
Collaborate with the entire engineering team to investigate and resolve data quality and performance issues across the stack.
Work with confidence against our OLAP and OLTP data stores (PostgreSQL, ClickHouse, S3) to deliver low-latency, reliable APIs.
