About this role
The role operates within the Freight Europe Operations Excellence (“OpsX”) function, responsible for providing analytical insight, performance visibility, and data-driven decision support across Freight Forwarding operations.
The Senior Regional Business Intelligence Specialist acts as the analytical backbone of the OpsX team, enabling performance management, process optimisation, and innovation tracking through data modelling, automation, and dashboarding
How you will contribute:
Customer Business Intelligence & Reporting Development
- Design, develop, and maintain regional BI dashboards and performance reports that provide transparency on Freight Europe operations, process efficiency, and innovation performance.
- Ensure data accuracy, integrity, and consistency across all OpsX reporting tools.
- Automate recurring reports and manual data processes to improve speed, scalability, and accuracy.
KPI Framework & Governance
- Support the definition, tracking, and governance of regional KPIs and process performance indicators in alignment with global standards.
- Establish common data definitions, ensuring that all metrics across clusters and functions are standardised and comparable.
- Partner with Process Excellence teams to ensure KPIs reflect real operational performance and support continuous improvement.
Data Analysis & Insight Generation
- Conduct advanced data analysis to identify trends, variances, and root causes affecting operational efficiency and service quality.
- Translate data insights into actionable recommendations to support business improvement decisions and innovation initiatives.
- Prepare and present analytical findings to management in clear, visual, and business-relevant formats.
Collaboration & Business Partnering
- Work closely with the OpsX Process Excellence, Innovation, and Cluster Operations teams to understand data needs and provide analytical support for key initiatives.
Innovation & Automation Support
- Identify and implement opportunities to automate data collection, processing, and reporting through tools such as Power BI, Power Automate, or Python.
Support pilot projects involving AI, machine learning, or predictive analytics to enhance visibility and forecasting capability.
Your key qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Data Analytics, Information Systems, Business Intelligence, Computer Science, or a related quantitative field.
- Minimum 5–8 years of experience in Business Intelligence, Data Analytics, or Reporting ideally within Logistics, Freight Forwarding, or Supply Chain industries.
- Proven track record in building and maintaining dashboards, data models, and automated reporting solutions using tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or Qlik.
- Strong experience in managing large datasets and ensuring data quality, governance, and integrity across multiple systems. Experience working with cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into analytical solutions and actionable insights.
- Exposure to process improvement, automation, or digitalisation projects within operational or logistics environments is preferred.
- Hands-on experience with SQL, DAX, Excel (advanced), and data visualisation best practices. Knowledge of Python, R, or Power Automate is a strong advantage.
- Demonstrate strong analytical mindset, attention to detail, problem-solving ability.
- Fluent in English (written and spoken). Additional European languages such as German, Dutch, or French are an advantage.
