Here at P&O Ferries we are seeking a Contractor Assurance & Regulatory Standards Manager to join our team working from any P&O location on a permanent basis. 

This is an opportunity to work as part of the HSSE team helping to ensure that Contractor Assurance standards are achieved, ISO procedural compliance is maintained, and Fleet Regulations are reviewed and updated in collaboration with key stakeholders. 

The successful candidate will have a proven record in safety management and ISO Management systems with a solid knowledge of Maritime Safety Management Systems.  The role can be based at P&O Ferries Cairnryan or P&O Ferries Larne, with frequent travel between both Ports required as part of this role. 

 

Key Responsibilities:

Working in partnership with local management, including the Route Director and Route Ship Manager, you will:

  • Engage with operational teams to advise on, monitor, assess, and communicate HSSE risks and activities, supporting a strong and positive health and safety culture.

  • Ensure appropriate HSSE assurance arrangements are in place and effectively managed for employees, visitors, and contractors.

  • Educate, advise, audit, and develop local teams to ensure compliance with Group HSSE standards and requirements.

  • Embed HSSE into day-to-day line management operations, including the sharing of trends, insights, and lessons learned across relevant P&O operations.

  • Support HSSE performance across ports, ensuring regulatory and stakeholder compliance.

  • Deliver and maintain effective HSSE management systems.

  • Ensure compliance with all security regulatory requirements for Flag, Port State, and Host States, including ISM Code cyber security requirements.

  • Work collaboratively with stakeholders to maintain security standards across ports and routes.

  • Support the Head of HSSE in developing long-term operational HSSE strategy aligned to Group vision and objectives.

  • Undertake additional responsibilities as required by the Head of HSSE.

The ideal candidate will 

  • Act as the primary point of contact for HSSE across the Irish Sea
  • Provide regular reporting to senior leadership on contractor performance, risks, and compliance status.
  • Engage with regulators, auditors, and industry bodies as required.
  • Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders to 
  • Ensure alignment with Group standards
