About this role

Te kōwhiringa | The Opportunity

As a Wastewater Serviceperson, you’ll play a vital role in operating and maintaining the Tasman District Council wastewater network. This includes reticulation systems, pump stations, and wastewater treatment plants, ensuring compliance with resource consents, legislation, and service level expectations.

You’ll respond to faults, complete scheduled and reactive maintenance, and support incident and emergency responses as part of an on-call roster. Working independently and as part of a wider team, you’ll help deliver reliable wastewater services that protect the environment and support the wellbeing of the Tasman community.

 

Mōu koe | About You

  • Experience in underground services, water, drainage, or wastewater maintenance
  • Qualification and/or practical experience operating wastewater networks (Level 4 Wastewater Treatment preferred)
  • Comfortable working on an on-call and standby roster
  • Confined space and hazard awareness training desirable
  • Full driver’s licence (Class 2 and RTW an advantage)
  • Strong communication skills with confidence dealing with the public
  • Technically capable, proactive, and able to work independently or within a team
  • Competent using mobile field devices and completing accurate documentation
