The Opportunity
Downer’s Energy & Utilities business is seeking qualified and experienced Special Class Welder’s to join us for shutdowns in Tom Price, WA. You will be supporting the team with 2 upcoming projects, Stacker 82 and the Tractor Workshop upgrades. These roles will see you responsible for carrying out structural repairs and modifications to conveyor frames, pulleys, and associated components to support the belt splice process. This includes welding or reinforcing damaged steelwork, installing wear plates and brackets, repairing chutes and guards, and ensuring all work is completed to strict welding procedure specifications and site safety standards. The successful candidates will also join our talent pools to be used in future works across remote and regional WA.
About You
- Trade Certificate – Boilermaker / Fabricator or equivalent
- Construction Induction / White Card
- Gas Test Atmospheres, Enter and Work in Confined Spaces, and Working at Heights within 3 years
- Fire Certificate within 4 years
- Prior experience in a FIFO role
- Current RTIO Inductions are highly desirable
