THE ROLE 

Join us in delivering the infrastructure essential for modern Australia. As a Project Engineer with the Power Projects Team, you will lead the design and execution of high-voltage substation and Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects throughout Victoria.

We are seeking a Project Engineer to support the delivery of a large-scale substation project located in the western suburbs of Melbourne. This is a site-based position with a drive-in, drive-out schedule, making it ideal for an engineer who thrives in a fast-paced delivery environment. In this role, you will work closely with the Project Manager and on-site teams to coordinate construction activities, monitor progress, and ensure that technical, safety, and quality standards are maintained throughout all phases of the project.

Some of the key responsibilities include:

• Assess risks in construction to ensure safe execution and compliance with environmental and quality standards.
• Coordinate and manage construction engineering activities to ensure timely, budget-friendly, and quality-driven project delivery.
• Lead by example and consistently promote key aspects of Zero Harm when working with operational teams.
• Collaborate with project teams to form active and effective business improvements that eliminate waste and minimise operational costs.
• Take the lead in managing subcontractors while advising on commercial matters and performance.

ABOUT YOU

You bring a sharp engineering mind, practical problem-solving skills, and a track record of delivering complex plans on time and to a high level.

• A Trade or Engineering (Electrical or similar) qualification and/or a Diploma in Project Management. Additionally, you must possess experience delivering electrical utility projects.

• Experience in the Energy Supply Industry, ideally in substation delivery

• Familiarity with tools like MS Project, Primavera P6, @Risk, Expert Estimator
