What We Offer

  • FIFO Shutdowns from Perth to Tom Price
  • Pay Rates (Flat Including Casual Loading):
    • Trade Qualified Painter - $72.20 per hour
    • Non-Trade Qualified Painter - $57.39 per hour
  • Roster: 12-hour shifts working Days & Nights
  • Project Start: March onwards
  • Scope: Ongoing casual shutdowns with Downer
  • Nightshift Allowance: 15% Uplift

 

The Opportunity
Downer’s Energy & Utilities business is seeking qualified and experienced Painter Blaster’s to join us for shutdowns in Tom Price, WA. You will be supporting the team with 2 upcoming projects, Stacker 82 and the Tractor Workshop upgrades. This role will see you responsible for preparing and protecting steel structures, piping, and fixed plant equipment through abrasive blasting and the application of protective coatings. This includes tasks such as grit or sandblasting to remove rust, scale, or old coatings, followed by applying primers and industrial-grade paint systems to meet corrosion protection standards. The successful candidates will also join our talent pools to be used in future works across remote and regional WA.

 

About You

  • Trade Certificate
  • Construction Induction / White Card
  • Gas Test Atmospheres, Enter and Work in Confined Spaces, and Working at Heights within 3 years
  • Fire Certificate within 4 years
  • Prior experience in a FIFO role
  • Current RTIO Inductions are highly desirable
