We currently have an opportunity for a Facilities Manager to join our Asset Management & Facilities Management contract with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs & Trade (MFAT) team and play a key role in delivering the Facilities Management (FM) service in the Pacific across ten jurisdictions.

Downer has entered in a long-term Asset Management & Facilities Management contract with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs & Trade (MFAT). The contract involves the proactive management and delivery of facilities maintenance services, operations services, asset management and minor projects for all their property portfolio in the Pacific across ten jurisdictions.
As our Facilities Manager, you'll be at the heart of managing and delivering top-notch facilities maintenance services across diverse property types and jurisdictions throughout the Pacific region. Based in vibrant Auckland, this role offers exciting opportunities for frequent travel to various MFAT locations across the Pacific.
In this pivotal position, you’ll take ownership of our Pacific portfolio, working closely with the Downer team and our Service Delivery Partners to ensure facilities maintenance is carried out safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards. Your role will be instrumental in building strong relationships and collaborating effectively with stakeholders to achieve exceptional business and customer outcomes. Build strong and trusting relationship with client representatives in the Pacific and the Service Delivery Partners.
What You’ll Do
This role offers a broad scope, with key responsibilities including:
Foster a Zero Harm culture and ensure compliance with security aspects of contracts.
Engage positively with customers and manage relationships with subcontractors to achieve collaborative outcomes.
Oversee and manage facilities maintenance services delivery, including adherence to KPIs, resource utilization, and financial performance.
Lead governance and service delivery across various work types, technologies, and customers.
Develop local trade capabilities in the Pacific to support social outcomes and improve service efficiency.
Provide after-hours on-call support, champion business development, and seek continuous improvement initiatives.

Nga pūkenga matua | Important Skills
Bring your Facilities Management qualification or equivalent experience, with 3-5 years in Technical, Construction, Facilities, or Asset Management.
Showcase your skills in Facilities Maintenance Services, including operational and financial aspects.
Proven track record in driving quality maintenance activities, meeting schedules, and minimizing rework.
Experience working in the Pacific is a strong plus.
Experience in developing trade capabilities and fostering growth.
Proficiency in French is a bonus for communicating with French-speaking stakeholders.
Demonstrate managerial courage, initiative, and a strong drive to achieve results.
You will also be required to complete a National Security Clearance and Ministry of Justice Clearance as part of the requirement for this role.
This role is based in Auckland and will require frequent travel to the MFAT locations in the Pacific at times one to two weeks in a row, multiple times a year.
