Te kōwhiringa | The Opportunity

Based in Albany/Henderson but covering the wider Auckland region, Downer NZ has an opportunity for an experienced Drainage Leading Hand to join our existing team on the Watercare Maintenance contract.

 

The Leading Hand will be responsible for planning, scheduling, organising, directing, and overseeing staff activities to guarantee that work is completed to customer satisfaction while meeting all productivity, quality, and safety targets. This role requires a hands-on approach and may also involve providing training and development opportunities for team members as needed. 

 

Nga pūkenga matua | Important Skills

You will have previous experience in the Water and/or Drainage Industry and will bring with you:

  • Relevant water, wastewater, or civil works at National Certificate Level 4 or above
  • 3 years+ proven civil experience in drainage
  • A full Class 1 driver's license is mandatory. Class 2 & RTW endorsements are an advantage 
  • Strong communication and IT skills. 
  • Recognising and addressing potential risks and safety hazards for a safer environment.
  • Experience in dealing with the stakeholders
