We have a great opportunity for an experienced Signalling Discipline Manager to join our team and lead a team of engineers delivering project services, overseeing staff assignments, recruitment, training, and performance management. The role requires coordination with other engineering functions such as systems engineering, manufacturing, configuration control, safety assurance, and support. As the Discipline Manager you will ensure effective processes are in place to meet business objectives and regulatory standards, handles engineering administration, reviews technical work, and is recognised as an authority in a significant engineering discipline. Additionally, the Discipline Manager develops programs, helps set operational policies, and addresses any technical challenges.

Education & qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical / mechanical / Electronics or equivalent fields
  • Minimum 15 years of professional experience in signalling rail domain, with proven experience in signalling system specification, design, modification, installation, commissioning and testing.
  • Be registered on the National Engineering Register and membership of a relevant professional institution, such as Engineers Australia.
  • State professional engineering registrations will be required according to state.

Skills and knowledge:

  • Minimum 10-15 years relevant experience in signalling design/assurance or equivalent
  • Safety Assurance experience
  • Experience in interlocking, TMS and ETCS and signalling interfaces to trackside and onboard systems
  • Experience in design verification and reviews and support team members to solving technical challenges with Signalling Design articles including Signalling Arrangements, Control Tables, Circuits and Interlocking Data, with a focus on operational works
  • Relevant Australian and International standards, in particular EN50126/8/9. Demonstrated experience as Technical Authority for Signalling solutions deployment
  • Experience of RAM, system safety assurance and systems engineering.
  • Demonstrated ability the prepare accurate detailed estimates for engineering activities and manage budgets and resources during project execution
