About this role

The opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Cost Controller to join our manufacturing team within Mineral Technologies Pty Ltd.

Reporting to the Head of Equipment & Delivery Operations, this role plays a critical part in recording, analysing, forecasting, and reporting on manufacturing costs to support informed operational and strategic decision-making. You will work closely with Finance, Manufacturing, planning and Factory teams to ensure cost transparency, operational efficiency, and continuous improvement across our manufacturing operations.

This is an individual contributor role, ideal for someone who enjoys being hands-on with data while partnering closely with operational leaders in a technically sophisticated manufacturing environment.

What you’ll do

  • Analyse and report on manufacturing costs, variances, inventory movements, and cost drivers
  • Partner with factory, planning, and procurement teams to improve cost efficiency and reduce waste
  • Prepare monthly cost reports, dashboards, forecasts, and leadership commentary
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives through cost analysis and ROI modelling
  • Participate in stocktakes, cycle counts, and end-of-month project reporting

What we’re looking for

  • Tertiary qualifications in Accounting, Finance, Engineering, Trade, Advanced Diploma (TAFE), or equivalent industry experience
  • 3+ years’ experience in cost control within a manufacturing environment
  • Strong understanding of standard costing, cost roll-ups, variances, and manufacturing processes
  • Advanced Excel skills with experience in data analysis and reporting (Power BI advantageous)
  • A proactive, analytical mindset with the confidence to challenge processes and drive improvement
  • Experience creating and presenting financial data to senior managers.
