About this role
We are seeking a strategic and high-performing Controller to join our management team. This is a 100% remote position for candidates based in Argentina, Belize, Colombia, Guatemala, or Honduras.
As a key member of our leadership, you will oversee all financial operations, from budgeting and forecasting to internal controls and reporting. You will be the strategic bridge between the data and our Partners, ensuring the firm’s financial health and compliance.
Key Responsibilities Strategic Oversight: Develop internal control guidelines, policies, and procedures for budget accounting, cash management, and financial planning.
• Financial Reporting: Prepare and present risk analysis and financial reports that help senior leadership and attorneys understand the firm's fiscal health.
• Operational Excellence: Manage the company’s general ledger, payroll, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.
• Compliance: Ensure all activities meet state and federal regulatory requirements and professional standards.
• Advisory: Provide direct support to managing partners, translating complex financial data into actionable business language.
Requirements & Skills
• Professional Experience: Proven track record in accounting or finance, specifically within a professional services environment (deep understanding of utilization/realization and revenue recognition is required).
• Software Mastery: Advanced Excel skills and extensive experience with QuickBooks Online.
• Systems Mindset: Experience in financial project management and a systems-oriented approach to problem-solving.
• Communication: Ability to communicate financial information effectively to stakeholders at all levels.
• Work Style: Highly organized with the ability to deliver quality work under tight deadlines.
Working Conditions
• 100% Remote: Must have a reliable home office setup and high-speed internet.
• Availability: Standard business hours, with occasional after-hours or weekend work required for closing periods.
