DSI is seeking an experienced and motivated Team Lead to oversee day-to-day shipping and receiving operations in our warehouse. The Team Lead plays a vital role in supporting operations management, ensuring accuracy and efficiency, and fostering a culture of safety and teamwork. The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership, problem-solving skills, and the ability to train and mentor warehouse associates.
Position Summary
The Team Lead is responsible for coordinating, verifying, and guiding warehouse operations to meet production goals and maintain high standards of quality. This role includes supervising workflows, ensuring compliance with safety protocols, managing supplies and equipment processes, and driving continuous improvement strategies.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Oversight: Coordinate and verify daily shipping and/or receiving activities to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
Production Support: Assist operations management in meeting production targets and ensuring process compliance.
Training & Development: Train warehouse associates in operational functions, safety procedures, and company standards.
Equipment & Supplies Management: Oversee and manage sign-out processes for warehouse equipment and supplies.
Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for operational improvement and recommend/implement strategies to enhance efficiency.
Team Leadership: Provide guidance, motivation, and mentorship to associates and junior team leads to foster collaboration and accountability.
Communication & Collaboration: Act as a key liaison between warehouse staff and management, ensuring strong communication and alignment on goals.
Quality & Safety Focus: Maintain strict adherence to quality standards and safety protocols.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent; additional education preferred.
3+ years of experience in warehousing and distribution.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Warehouse Management Systems.
Strong leadership and decision-making skills.
Effective oral and written communication abilities.
Proven ability to plan, organize, and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Problem-solving skills with the ability to identify and resolve operational issues.
Strategic thinking to improve warehouse processes and achieve goals.
Team-oriented mindset with a focus on training and developing others.
