Costaterra is a private members only residential community in Comporta – Portugal. It combines luxury living with top-tier hospitality, offering incredible dining, a world-class golf course, spa services, outdoor pursuits, and immersive local experiences.

The senior fitness instructor assists the daily management of the wellness areas - fitness hosts and overall wellness operations regarding movement and physical activity. He/ she will coordinate the delivery of fitness services including weekly activities, personal training, fitness and bodywork classes, reception desk, and changing room areas. Sets an example for all fitness instructors and strives to continually exceed member and guest satisfaction and maximize the financial performance of the department.

What you will do?

• Provide high‑quality fitness, wellness, sports science, and bodywork instruction in both private and group settings.
• Assess members’ physical condition and design personalized training and return‑to‑practice programs aligned with their goals and abilities.
• Monitor member progress and adjust training plans based on physical changes or activity levels.
• Teach proper exercise techniques and demonstrate safe use of fitness equipment to prevent injuries.
• Actively promote personal training, physiotherapy, and wellness services through regular interaction with members and guests.
• Ensure compliance with all safety policies and maintain a secure, comfortable environment.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of fitness areas and equipment, including restocking supplies and managing inventory.
• Prepare and set up yoga, fitness, and spa areas daily according to operational standards.
• Welcome members and guests, answer inquiries, manage reservations, and provide clear information about services and procedures.
• Record member feedback, monitor product/equipment usage, and recommend suitable wellness products when appropriate.
• Collaborate effectively with colleagues, support team members, and participate in meetings and training sessions.
• Uphold Discovery Land standards of service and perform additional tasks assigned by supervisors or managers.

What are we looking for?

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar or more senior role within luxury health clubs, with proven results.
• Recognized Sports Science degree (minimum 3 years), with training in personal training, strength and conditioning, and performance.
• Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Excellent command of English; knowledge of the local language is an advantage.
• Up‑to‑date knowledge of fitness and wellness trends.
• Highly proactive, visible, and engaged host with strong organizational skills.
• Strong intuition for product and service quality, passion for excellence, and understanding of luxury customer expectations.
• Ability to work positively in a cross‑cultural environment.
• Thorough understanding of Costa Terra guidelines, rules, regulations, brand standards, facilities, and services.
