About this role

The Finance Business Analyst is responsible for assisting in the preparation of regular forecasts and plans and understanding monthly performance against those plans.  Analyzing, understanding and communicating meaningful financial performance on UK and Ireland’s business, whilst helping to deliver improvements in reporting of financials with development of AI tools. The role gives the successful candidate an opportunity to get an understanding of a whole business and its P&L in a growth environment

What you'll do

Principal Accountabilities

Play a key role in:

  • Preparing and explaining forecast corporate financial performance on a monthly basis

  • Annual financial planning process and regular forecasts

  • Annual five-year business plan process

  • Direct support of Operational Finance lead in input of forecasts and budgets and KPI review decks

    Review of revenue drivers to ensure accurate and consistent data to help drive decision making

  • Support ad hoc corporate or departmental initiatives/projects such as providing financial analysis to assist in building business cases for investment decisions

 

Key interfaces

  • Work closely with other Finance Analysts and Finance Managers within:

    • Financial Planning and Analysis team across Europe
    • Finance Director and Finance Managers (Commercial and Operations leads) in the subregion
  • Interface with other business areas in both the UK and Ireland such as;

    • Operations – cost control and KPI analysis
    • HR 
    • Sales
    • WMarketing among others

 

What you'll need

  • Experience of management accounting/budgeting/forecasting and analytical experience desirable

  • High level of Excel skills (comfortable with manipulation of large data sets)

  • Experience of using AI tools 

 

  • Analytical and problem-solving skills - including ability to analyse, interpret and present financial and business data.

  • Numerate and accurate with a high level of attention to detail
  • Able to interact and communicate with finance and non-finance specialists.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills – able to articulate and document thoughts clearly and to present with confidence and credibility to a variety of audiences.
  • Take responsibility for managing and prioritising own work, with the resilience to work under pressure.

  • Delivery of results to deadlines, with a commitment to producing accurate and timely financial information. 

  • Customer support focus, with the ability to build, maintain and manage relationships.

  • A team player with well-developed interpersonal skills, able to promote good team working and cooperation.

  • Able to work effectively in groups and cross functionally to achieve objectives.

  • Proactive, able to explore issues and generate new ideas in developing continuous improvement measures.

  • Flexible in approach, responding positively to change
