The Janitorial Supervisor plays a critical role in ensuring high-quality, compliant janitorial services while supporting Didlake’s mission to create meaningful employment opportunities for individuals with disabilities. This position provides hands-on leadership, ensures safety and quality standards are met, and fosters an inclusive, respectful, and productive work environment.
What You Will Do
- Provide overall direction, coordination, and supervision of janitorial staff engaged in cleaning and maintaining site facilities.
- Plan, assign, and direct work; inspect completed work to ensure compliance with quality standards.
- Appraise performance, provide coaching and feedback, and address performance or conduct issues in accordance with Didlake policy.
- Monitor staffing levels, attendance, tardiness, and timecard accuracy.
- Review leave requests and make recommendations to the Assistant Project Manager or Project Manager.
- Maintain cleaning supplies and equipment by submitting requisitions and repair requests and issuing equipment to staff.
- Ensure safe operation and proper use of cleaning products, tools, and equipment.
- Provide leadership that promotes teamwork, accountability, professionalism, and strong work ethic.
- Supervise and support floor care operations, including hard surface and resilient flooring, and oversee floor equipment operators.
- Interact with Rehabilitation staff to ensure individual program plans are followed and appropriate accommodations are provided.
- Assist with interviewing candidates and make hiring recommendations.
- Complete required paperwork, documentation, and all Didlake-mandated training.
- Ensure staff conduct and decorum align with Didlake policies and procedures.

Education & Experience
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Minimum of one (1) year of supervisory experience required.
- Specialized knowledge of floor care operations in commercial and/or federal environments preferred.
Skills & Abilities
- Ability to obtain and maintain required credentials and background checks per contract requirements.
- Valid and insurable driver’s license.
- Knowledge of industrial cleaning products and equipment and their safe operation.
- Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to write routine reports and communicate information clearly to employees.
- Strong interpersonal skills to train, support, and resolve personnel issues.
- Ability to project a positive, professional image at all times.
