About the Role
The D&T Solution Owner – Legal & CR Value Stream chips in to the definition and delivery of the long‑term roadmap for Legal and Compliance applications, ensuring they remain stable, effective and continuously improved in line with business strategy. The role partners closely with Legal, Compliance, HR, Finance and Technology teams, helping translate business needs into a prioritized backlog and clear delivery outcomes. The Solution Owner supports the management of total cost of ownership, helps optimize run/support, and chips in to building a capable team focused on user experience and value delivery.
Key responsibilities
· Chip in to the definition and communication of a multi‑year solution roadmap for Legal and CR applications, aligned with Diageo’s digital strategy, Legal Tech vision and compliance requirements.
· Support the prioritization of features, enhancements and BAU improvements across the Legal and CR application estate, balancing strategic outcomes, risk and operational constraints.
· Help ensure solution performance, stability and governance, working with relevant teams so platforms meet SLAs, security, data privacy and regulatory standards.
· Partner with Product, Technology, Operations, Legal, Compliance and HR to drive alignment, handle customer expectations and support issue resolution.
· Assist in handling the budget and total cost of ownership across projects, support and continuous improvement, working with PMO and Finance on estimates, allocations and actuals.
· Supply to fostering a collaborative, high‑performing environment across internal teams and vendors, supporting delivery of quality releases and responsive production support.
· Use data and feedback from lawyers, compliance teams and end‑users to recommend roadmap adjustments and continuous improvements in user experience and adoption.
· Support the identification and adoption of Legal Tech and automation opportunities to simplify processes, strengthen controls and improve compliance (e.g., matter management, contract workflows, regulatory reporting).
Experience and skills
· 10 years of confirmed ability in Product Ownership, Solution Ownership, Business Analysis or Programme Management for enterprise applications, ideally within Legal, Compliance, HR or other corporate functions.
· Exposure to sophisticated, multi‑system landscapes and vendor‑managed solutions in a global or regional environment.
· Understanding of solution architecture basics, integration patterns, data governance and security/compliance considerations.
· Experience tracking budgets or financials for projects or application portfolios, with an interest in optimizing spend over time.
· Strong partner management and communication skills, with the ability to work efficiently with senior and non‑technical partners.
· Experience working in or with distributed teams; able to give to an inclusive, collaborative and learning culture.
· Nice to have exposure to Legal Tech platforms (such as CLM, e‑billing or matter management) and familiarity with legal or regulatory risk and controls.
