About the role:

  • Accountable for driving commercial strategies and activating brand plans to grow market share while embedding Diageo standard methodologies.

  • Works closely with distributor commercial and marketing teams to build a trusted, productive partnership with both the distributor and trade customers.

  • Implement the markets commercial strategy RTC with distributor.

  • Develops a strong on-trade network with key influencers, decision makers, bartenders, outlet managers, and owners—to lock commercial deals & secure visibility, menu listings, and pouring agreements for Diageo brands.

  • Delivers the regional commercial strategy in-market, cultivating the relationships required to achieve Diageo’s ambitions.

  • Leads commercial engagements with retail and on-trade customers, seeing opportunities in collaboration with distributor commercial and marketing teams.

  • Sets budget allocation by brand and channel and proposes market-specific activation plans.

  • Build the trade investment plan with the distributor commercial lead to deliver overall brand objectives.

  • Lead on trade terms negotiation of national distributor and indirect retail and on trade customers.

  • Exceed the plan by delivering outstanding performance in NSV, CAAP, cash, market share, distribution, and best-in-class visibility and execution.

  • Lead the execution strategy for new launches and penetration.

The role is based in Erbil - Iraq.

Role Responsibilities

  • Prepare QBRs with clear action plans and accountability.

  • Prepare monthly internal business reviews, analyzing performance, identifying opportunities, and risk mitigations plans.

  • Hit brand important metrics for volume, net sales, and market share in line with the commercial plan.

  • Lead market forecasting and timely forecast submissions.

  • Implement the market commercial strategy to optimize growth opportunities, market share win and profit enhancement.

  • Generate ideas grounded in a deep understanding of customer requirements and manage them through to successful execution. 

  • Deliver brand performance targets, in terms of volume, net sales and market share, which are in line with Levant commercial strategy.  

  • Lead the relationship with key and relevant partners (external and internal), especially distributors while keeping a sustainable, mutually profitable, and strong partnership.

  • Support on the negotiation with Diageo distributor while securing access to depletions and relevant market data to increase action plan and strategies efficiency.

  • Protect scotch leadership in Iraq & grow Diageo portfolio

  • Enhance the RTC in Iraq, with the proper capability agenda, collaboration and follow up

  • Win the Iraq & Jordan On-Trade TLA, locking pouring deals, menus, visibility, and activations

  • New market entry: Support in designing the RTM, build the commercial structure, lead the RTC launch, and initiate a value-chain pricing strategy for the portfolio

  • Develop trade-channel commercial strategies, secure ONT/TLA wins, kick off activation plans, build key retail/wholesale relationships.

  • Launch Non-Alcoholic portfolio
