Financial Operations Lead

<p><strong>Role:&nbsp;</strong></p> <p>We are looking for a Financial Operations Lead to scale the company’s financial operations during a pivotal phase of growth. This role is responsible for building robust, scalable, and well-controlled finance operations; covering core processes, systems, and tooling across the business. Reporting directly to the CFO, the role works cross-functionally with the wider senior leadership team to design and implement best-in-class financial workflows and internal tools, while ensuring the business can scale without adding unnecessary friction.</p> <p>This is a rare opportunity to operate at a senior level in a fast-scaling, category-defining company that has just raised a $165m Series C. You will be trusted to build the financial operating backbone of a high-growth company from the inside out. You’ll have real ownership over how finance works day-to-day, from tooling decisions to process design, and the mandate to modernise and automate at scale.</p> <p>This role will involve at least one day a week onsite at our Wallingford facility. <strong>Because of this, any applicant to be considered must be based in the UK and have full right to work in the UK.&nbsp;</strong></p> <p><strong>Responsibilities:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Build and implement&nbsp; financial operations including AR, AP, billing, collections and payments</li> <li>Design, document, and roll out standard operating procedures (SOPs) across all core finance processes</li> <li>Lead the evaluation, selection, and implementation of finance systems and tooling, including ERP, billing, expense, and procurement platforms</li> <li>Partner with Product and Engineering to design, build, and maintain internal finance tools and automations</li> <li>Drive ERP implementation or migration (e.g. system selection, data migration, process redesign, and change management)</li> <li>Improve data quality, controls, and audit readiness through process and system improvements.</li> <li>Build and maintain operational dashboards and controls<br>Reduce manual effort through automation and system integration</li> <li>Act as the operational interface between finance and the rest of the business</li> </ul> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>Required Qualifications:</strong></p> <ul> <li>5–10+ years of experience in finance operations, finance systems, or controllership-adjacent roles, ideally in a high-growth or scale-up environment</li> <li>Proven experience designing and implementing <strong>finance SOPs and operational controls</strong></li> <li>Hands-on experience selecting, implementing, or migrating an <strong>ERP system</strong> is not a must but a nice to have</li> <li>Strong understanding of <strong>order-to-cash, procure-to-pay, and record-to-report</strong> processes</li> <li>Track record of driving <strong>automation and process improvement</strong> using modern tooling</li> <li>Strong systems mindset with attention to detail and operational rigour</li> <li>Ability to manage complex change programmes and bring stakeholders along</li> <li>Clear communicator who can translate operational requirements into technical and system solutions.</li> <li>Strong commercial judgement and strategic mindset</li> <li>Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, ambiguous, and evolving environment, with a hands-on and ownership-driven approach</li> <li>High level of integrity, discretion, and sound judgement when handling sensitive information</li> </ul> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>Benefits</strong></p> <p>Starting from the interview process and continuing into your career with us, you will be working by our four Operating Principles:</p> <ul> <li>Performance: High standards, outstanding results,</li> <li>Impact: Big challenges, bigger results</li> <li>Commitment: All in, every time</li> <li>One team: One mission, shared success</li> </ul> <p>Joining our team and company isn't just about expertise; it's about embracing uncertainty with ambition.
