Job Description

Dewberry is currently seeking a Land Development Staff Engineer to work with our National Electrical Vehicle (EV) Infrastructure Team. This is an excellent career opportunity for an enthusiastic and talented individual to join a team of outstanding professionals. Clients include utilities, transit authorities, and privately owned EV companies at the forefront of this exciting new technology.

 

This is an in-office for this role with future flexibility for a hybrid role. There is a preference for candidates located in Boston, MA, Parsippany, NJ, Richmond, VA, Orlando, FL, and Atlanta, GA.

Responsibilities

  • Work with Project Managers to develop civil & electrical engineering designs for electric vehicle charging station projects. Phases of design work include preliminary design visit, conceptual plans, zoning/planning coordination, permit documentation and construction level design plans. There will also be exposure to Design/Build and Construction Management activities.
  • Work with CAD to prepare plans for submittal to local authorities having jurisdiction.
  • Work with Senior Staff and Professional Engineers to prepare project reports and submittals.
  • Assist with the project management team with production and begin to incorporate project management responsibilities with oversight from senior staff.
  • Develop grading and stormwater designs under the supervision of a Professional Engineer.
  • Field work to gather existing conditions information and perform construction inspections.

Required Skills & Required Experience

  • B.S. in Engineering is required.
  • 2-5 years’ experience/previous land development design experience.
  • Land development, grading, storm water experience is required.
  • EV, Utility design & solar experience is desired.
  • Expertise in using AutoCAD & Civil 3D required.
  • Solid oral and written communication skills.
  • Desire to work in a team environment.
  • An FE License is required for this PE track position.
  • Driving is a requirement of the position. A clean driving record is required.
  • Physically able to work outdoors in all weather conditions and terrains.
  • Ability to repetitively stoop, crawl, bend at the knees and waist, squat and lift 50 lbs; includes body weight, equipment, tools and boxes, in addition to ability to stand for long periods of time on varied surfaces

Must have a valid driver’s license, good driving record and ability to pass a driving record background check.

Salary Range

The projected range for this position in the following locations are:

  • Parsippany, NJ: $75,950 - $101, 200 
  • Boston, MA: $74,550 - $95,700

Depending upon other factors, i.e., skills, experience, location, market conditions, the range may vary slightly.
