Job Description

Dewberry is currently seeking a Geospatial Analyst for lidar to join our cadre of skilled professional and technical staff in an on-call capacity to support lidar processing and editing in our Fairfax, VA or Tampa, FL office. Work assignments involve being called to support surge lidar operations for a period of 1-2 months. Responsibilities

Position requires experience in lidar editing and creating hydrographic break lines. Candidate should have conceptual understanding of elevation data and lidar as well as past experience with ArcMap and/or ArcPro.

 

· Editing lidar point clouds and creating hydrographic break lines for multiple topographic and bathymetric lidar projects.

· Work with the Product Line Lead to assist in the execution of projects, on time and within budget.

· Perform work that appropriately follows all quality control steps and practices are implemented throughout processes to ensure deliverables meet client specifications.

· Provide feedback and support for developing and/or updating SOPs as necessary.

· Works with production staff to support process improvements; working with other Technology/Process Improvement teams to review best practices to enhance product line, gain efficiency, and improve quality.

· Task Management; Problem resolution; Report writing; Collaboration.

· Quality Assurance, documentation and providing feedback.

Required Skills & Required Experience

· Bachelor's degree in Geography, GIS, or related field.

· 2+ years of experience in the GIS/Remote Sensing Field.

· Experience in Lidar data editing

· In-depth knowledge of ESRI's software ie. ArcMap, ArcPro

· Conceptual understanding of fundamental remote sensing concepts and geospatial processes for various products, e.g. how lidar sensors work, basic GPS ground survey procedures, airborne lidar trajectory processing, interaction of light and water for bathymetry applications, and ortho-imagery processing.

· Proficiency in basic computer applications, especially MS Office (Word, Excel, and Access).

· Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Must have a valid driver’s license, good driving record and ability to pass a driving record background check.
