About this role

Description

The Admissions Specialist is responsible for managing the intake and admissions process for clients, ensuring a smooth flow of documentation and communication between families, agencies, and internal departments. This role involves assessing clients, coordinating with insurance providers, and maintaining compliance with regulatory standards. The specialist serves as a key liaison to ensure timely and accurate admissions while upholding Devereux’s mission and ethical standards.

 

Key Duties

  • Manage and assess client admissions using therapeutic communication.
  • Coordinate with families, agencies, and internal teams to ensure smooth intake.
  • Conduct utilization reviews and ensure accurate, timely documentation.
  • Maintain compliance with regulatory standards and admission protocols.
  • Provide financial and insurance information to clients/guardians.
  • Support clinical teams and make appropriate referrals as needed.
  • Maintain organized records and uphold confidentiality and professionalism.

Must complete a 2 week training in Kennesaw, GA

Qualifications

EDUCATION: Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in human services, social work, or a related field.

EXPERIENCE: Minimum of two years experience in admissions in the clinical, DFCS, or social work field. Experience with MyAvatar or similar systems preferred.
