As a System Engineer, you will develop and improve complex systems and services, taking into account holistic business requirements and implications along the entire development process (lifecycle).
Your main tasks are:

  • You design and define standards for system tests, test automation and system documentation
  • You devise complex, technical concepts/specifications
  • You install, configure and operate complex systems/services for systems
  • You coordinate and support rollouts of NT/IT-assisted processes/systems into regular operation
  • You manage internal or external partners for system development
  • You manage complex projects

Requirements

We are looking for a System Engineer to take responsibility for the compute hardware portfolio of our BM4X cloud platform. As a System Engineer, you will be responsible for our systems throughout the entire end-to-end process – from requirements gathering and testing to hardware and software release implementation, as well as the execution of all necessary lifecycle measures.

You will be the central point of contact and liaison for the team, our manufacturers, and other stakeholders regarding the technology you are responsible for.
You possess the following knowledge and skills:

  • Excellent knowledge of telecommunications infrastructure (network, servers, storage)
  • Excellent understanding of server hardware (preferably Lenovo, Dell, HPE)
  • Excellent knowledge of systems engineering (integration tests, acceptance tests) and experience with deploying hardware into regular operation
  • Experience with development/automation methodologies, e.g., Infrastructure as a Code
  • Strong knowledge of DevOps technologies (virtualization, containerization (Kubernetes), Git, CI/CD)
  • Excellent knowledge of APIs (e.g., Redfish API)
  • Excellent knowledge of requirements management
  • Strong communication skills in German and English to communicate effectively within the team, with our vendors and with other stakeholders
  • Good knowledge of the market, technology, and competitor landscape in the cloud and data center sector, including digital transformation


This position is also available on a part-time basis.
