The Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) serves a strategic function in building a positive workplace culture by overseeing initiatives related to employee engagement, wellness, and employee relations. This role collaborates with leaders, managers, and staff to create, implement, and assess programs that enhance employee satisfaction, promote well-being, and ensure effective resolution of workplace issues. As a trusted advisor, the HRBP ensures that HR solutions support organizational objectives and values.


They are responsible for aligning business goals with both employees and management. The position establishes partnerships across the HR department to provide value-added services to management and staff, reflecting the organization's business objectives. The HRBP maintains a solid understanding of the business unit’s financial standing, mid-term plans, culture, and competitors.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Oversee administration of yearly employee engagement survey, team check-ins, pulse survey, manager action planning and communication.
  • Utilize employee feedback channels (surveys, exit interviews, listening sessions, etc.) to identify areas of need and solutions.
  • Serve as a strategic thought partner to business owners on people-related strategies and engagements.
  • Track and report on engagement metrics and recommend action plans based on findings.
  • Partner with the Pistons recruiter on integrated approaches to promote diversity and inclusion in talent attraction, development, engagement and retention.
  • Contribute to the development and enhancement of a positive corporate culture by supporting recruitment efforts, policy formulation, team-building initiatives, organizational culture programs, employee events, and cross-departmental collaboration.
  • Lead and implement strategies for emerging talent, including the intern program and initiatives to strengthen the talent pipeline.
  • Oversee Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) to make sure they function efficiently and achieve their established objectives.
  • Help build and execute talent management activities including: Succession planning, talent movement and retention, leveraging workforce analytics and insights.
  • Provide day-to-day performance management guidance to people leaders and employees including coaching, counseling and career development.
  • Lead and resolve complex employee relations issues. Conduct effective, thorough, and objective investigations. Maintain in-depth knowledge of legal requirements and raise to next level leadership, as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with all legal requirements and advise appropriate parties of upcoming legal changes.
  • Provides HR policy guidance and interpretation.
  • Ongoing evaluation of current business processes to identify necessary systems & tools, optimizing those processes and seeking feedback from all stakeholders to enhance the employee experience
  • Serve on 401k Committee
  • Other duties as reasonably assigned 

Requirements

  • 5 years of relevant experience
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
