Your role

 

We have an opportunity for the role of Senior Property Officer working in the Workplace Leasing and Planning unit within the Capital Planning and Investment branch.

 

The role is a part of a supportive and collaborative team which is striving to improve the commercial work environment for all staff and this role plays a vital part in achieving this goal.

 

The team encourages working flexibly. Some metro and regional travel relating to the role will be required.

 

What you’ll do

 

As part of the Capital Planning and Investment team within Infrastructure and Assets, the Senior Property Officer is responsible for coordinating property leases and accommodation projects to provide safe and fit-for-purpose office accommodation for Department of Communities & Justice staff, judiciary officers and tenants.

 

As part of the team, you will be responsible for:

 

  • Coordinating and supporting the negotiation of commercial leases to ensure Department leases meet strategic goals including accommodation at competitive rates, safe work environments, and continuous occupancy.
  • Providing reports to management with accurate information of lease performance and property issues/risks.
  • Supporting the development of accommodation plans for lease or entity owned property to establish priorities and provide a framework for decision making.
  • Foster and maintaining positive and effective relationships with clients, contractors and other stakeholders to ensure effective communication on all aspects of service delivery and issue management.
  • Providing input and preparing a range of operational documents including briefing papers, ministerial correspondence, discussion papers, reports, submissions and responses to information requests to contribute to the effective operation of the unit.

 

 

Essential requirements

Relevant qualifications and/or experience in leasing, lease administration, facilities management, or asset management.

  • Manage competing priorities and high volumes of work effectively within tight timeframes and limited resources to ensure delivery of Department objectives and priorities.

Work with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders and suppliers to support and facilitate the effective delivery of commercial, residential and retails leases
