About us 

Legal Aid NSW delivers accessible legal services across criminal, family and civil law. We provide advice, court representation, and family dispute resolution through 28 offices and phone-based support, helping people navigate the legal system with confidence and fairness.   

 

About the role 

This role plays a key part in strengthening the safety and security of Legal Aid NSW’s statewide operations. You will support both the strategic direction and day‑to‑day delivery of security services across 29 sites and contribute expert input into major programs — including implementing recommendations from a recent agency‑wide security review. 

You will provide specialist advice on electronic security systems, security design for fit‑outs and refurbishments, and the integration of new security technologies. You will also contribute to broader facilities operations to ensure safe, compliant and efficient workplaces. 

 

About you 

You are an experienced security professional who combines: 

  • solid technical understanding of electronic security systems in corporate or government environments 

  • strategic capability, able to interpret and apply safety and security recommendations 

  • strong operational discipline and a hands-on approach 

  • excellent stakeholder skills, particularly when balancing safety and client confidentiality 

  • the drive to deliver outcomes across multiple, diverse sites

The essential requirements for this role 

You must: 

  • be willing to do a Criminal Record Check  

  • hold Australian or NZ citizenship, Australian Permanent Residency (for ongoing vacancies) or a valid visa to work in Australia (for temporary vacancies) 

  • Tertiary qualifications or demonstrated equivalent experience in security management or facilities operations within a complex organisation for example across multiple sites  

  • Strong understanding of enterprise-level electronic security systems, such as access control, alarms, duress, and CCTV, and experience with security contractor/vendor management.  

  • Demonstrated ability to interpret and apply safety and security recommendations strategically and operationally, including contributing to large-scale security uplift initiatives.  

  • Willingness to participate in emergency response and travel across NSW as required.  

  • A valid Class C Driver Licence and a willingness to drive.

  • Targeted Question 2: Describe how you have supported or led multi-site security operations to ensure consistent alignment with broader organisational safety and risk management objectives? What strategies or systems did you implement to maintain compliance, standardisation, and operational effectiveness across multiple locations? 

 

We may use this recruitment to create a talent pool for ongoing or temporary vacancies we have over the next 18 months.
