Aboriginal Senior Client Service Officer

 

Location: Ashfield - however, you may be required to work across Ashfield, Hurstville, Maroubra and Miranda Offices

Employment Type: Temporary full-time opportunity – 4 months with possibility of extension

Salary: Clerk Grade 5/6, salary from $97,027 to $107,059 p.a. plus superannuation and employer annual leave loading

Your role

The Senior Client Service Officer plays a critical role in supporting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander clients and develop strategic partnership to address and meet clients housing and support needs. This role also focuses on mentoring and guiding client service team to deliver efficient, quality client-centred services.

What you’ll do

In this role your responsibilities include:

  • Cultivate and strength cultural connections within Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Communities.
  • Collaboration with internal and external stakeholders to develop innovative strategies to improve client outcomes and overcome barriers to housing access.
  • Taking ownership of case management planning and work closely with specialist and agencies to ensure it aligns with client needs.
  • Maintain accurate and secure client record to ensure information is relevant and accurate.
  • Develop and sustain local partnership to elevate service delivery and stronger communities.

 

What we’re looking for

You will be committed to driving positive change, who advocates for clients with complex needs. You will be a strategic problem-solver and guide a high-performing team to deliver meaningful support and sustainable outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait islander communities.

You will also demonstrate:

  • A high-level of communication and interpersonal skills to liaise effectively with various stakeholders and build long lasting relationships.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills to manage competing client needs and case load.
  • Integrity by upholding cultural values, protocols and traditional practices while ensuring compliant with government policies.
  • Ability mentorship and training to develop team members.
  • Competency in case management and a keen attention to detail.

Essential Requirements

As an Identified role, this position is open only to Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander persons

There are two alternatives to confirming your Aboriginality, one of which must be uploaded to be considered for the role as follows. Either will be accepted:

Confirmation of Aboriginality form

or

Written confirmation from 2-3 Aboriginal organisations within the community in which you live/work, which addresses the three criteria listed below:

  • is of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander descent, and
  • identifies as an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person, and
  • is accepted as a such by the Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander community.

Hold a current and valid drivers licence
