  • Salary Range: New hires will be set at $21.787 per hour. The salary range for internal candidates is $21.787 to $26.123 per hour. For detailed compensation information, view the Para Salary Schedule. The salary listed reflects the 2025–2026 school year. Salaries for the 2026–2027 school year are typically finalized and released mid-summer, with an effective date of August 1. If any updates or adjustments are made once the new salary schedule is finalized, all impacted individuals will receive the updated salary.

What You'll Do:

  • Facilitates and supports accommodations and modifications specified on Individualized Education Programs (IEP) and teacher lesson plans.
  • Prepares and sets-up educational materials for preschool children with and without disabilities.
  • Discusses and coordinates instructional efforts with teachers and other educational staff; communicates and coordinates with students and parents about routine educational issues.
  • Assists with conducting testing and assessment, multi-media activities, record-keeping, computer operation, discipline, and other activities as they pertain to working with preschool children with and without disabilities.
  • Provides daily living procedures such as toileting, diapering, feeding, and personal hygiene as trained and directed; additional duties may include health support delegation such as g-tube feeding or catheterization.
  • Lifts and transports students using appropriate equipment and lifting techniques.
  • Supports embedded and direct learning opportunities during all daily activities in the preschool class schedule.
  • Assists in maintaining high and low adaptive technology equipment.
  • Monitors student activity in classrooms, hallways, lunchrooms, playgrounds and other locations as required or requested.
  • Completes training programs and attends meetings as required.


 

What You’ll Need:

  • ELA-S paraprofessional positions are required to complete a proficiency exam hosted by Berlitz. The test has two parts, speaking and reading and the candidate must pass in order to be hired for the position. For more information, check out SLP Exam for Paraprofessionals.
  • Bilingual in Spanish and English is required. 
  • Lead for racial and educational excellence and work to dismantle systems of oppression and inequity in our community, along with believing in and supporting all students so they feel seen and heard with access to high quality education. 
  • Live and work with a permanent home address in Colorado while working with us.  
  • Have the ability with or without accommodations to meet the physical demands of the position.
