About this job:

Creates, adjusts and implements systems that support all students in having positive behaviors and attendance.  Provides the framework and interventions that enable students to have a safe, productive, and successful educational experience. Reinforces the culture of the classroom/school and ensures that all students understand behavioral and attendance expectations.

What You'll Do:

 

• Actively engages in identifying student needs, especially when it has to do with their academic or social lives, and provides/suggests solutions where necessary


• Consults with teachers, parents, and school personnel about learning, social, and behavioral issues. Confers with teachers and parents regarding the student's strengths, opportunities for growth and aptitudes


• Maintains a positive school environment through effective conflict resolution, collaboration, positive reinforcement, and modeling. Implements curriculum and restorative approaches feedback to develop positive social skills.


• Performs attendance related advising to assigned student case load to motivate students to establish and achieve their attendance goals. Assists in the application of appropriate interventions for chronically absent students.


• Develops community partnerships that are willing to offer programs and/or services for students at the school in alignment of identified needs.


• Establishes and maintains accurate student records and files regarding attendance and disciplinary issues. Analyzes and reports data findings to school leadership, including Intervention Plans when necessary.


• Refers students to school counselors or social workers, especially in situations that have escalated beyond academic or social concerns.


• Coordinates with school counseling and other staff to be kept apprised on issues affecting a students’ academic performance and/or social conflicts with teachers, students and parents.


• Promotes school and in home literacy enrichment for at-risk students to support with student engagement and necessary resources


 
What You’ll Need:
  • Bachelor's degree or relevant work experience minimum required.
  • Three (3) years minimum experience and demonstrated success in working collaboratively with other professional staff on instructional improvement issues.
  • Experience working with alternative youth and service providers preferred
  • Lead for racial and educational excellence and work to dismantle systems of oppression and inequity in our community, along with believing in and supporting all students so they feel seen and heard with access to high quality education. 
  • Live and work with a permanent home address in Colorado while working with us.  
  • Have the ability with or without accommodations to meet the physical demands of the position.
