About this job:
Monitors and coordinates the cleanliness, repair, maintenance and safety of the facility, systems and grounds with consideration to staff, student and security so that the facility is operational. Leads, motivates, mentors and guides others towards goals.

What You'll Do:
  • Service, sanitize, clean and supply facility and grounds including restrooms, drinking fountains, floors.
  • Remove graffiti, gum and other markings from facility surfaces and repaint with protective coating.
  • Follow proper procedures for chemical and power equipment use, in order to prevent damage and injury.
  • Perform routine preventative maintenance to ensure that machines continue to run smoothly, facility systems operate efficiently or the physical condition of the facility does not deteriorate.
  • May perform pool repair and minor maintenance and monitor District swimming pools. Check and interpret pool gauges, flow meters, and monitoring devices for operational efficiency. Test and adjust water chemistry to meet standards.
  • Inspect, install and repair pool related equipment and related plumbing systems.
  • Diagnoses problems and aids in resolving technical issues and escalates appropriately to ensure a positive experience.
  • Contributes to identifying process inefficiencies and proposes solutions. 
  • Check and verify facility security and safety by locking doors, windows and gates; reporting unsafe conditions to the supervisor.
What You’ll Need:
  • Be at least 18 years of age with a high school diploma or equivalent
  • 2+ years of experience preferred
  • Pass a reading test administered by Denver Public Schools
  • Successfully complete and pass a paid housekeeping course (20 hour course over 5 days)
  • Previous leadership experience preferred. Completion of District assigned specific training.
  • Must be available, on short notice, 24-hours a day and 7-days per week, to respond to any emergency situation.
  • Must be available for weekend and/or holiday job assignments as required.
  • Lead for racial and educational excellence and work to dismantle systems of oppression and inequity in our community, along with believing in and supporting all students so they feel seen and heard with access to high quality education. 
  • Live and work with a permanent home address in Colorado while working with us.  
  • Have the ability with or without accommodations to meet the physical demands of the position.
